The church is located in Nashua Iowa, was built in 1860, and has seen over 70,000 weddings through the years. The history of the church goes back to 1856 William Pitts while passing through, waiting for the stagecoach to switch horses, took a a stroll and scoped out this vacant piece of land thought it would be the ideal spot for a church. He even wrote a poem about it and later put it to music titled, "Church in the Wildwood", then tucked it away and forgot about it. In 1862 he returned to the area, and to his great surprise there was a little brown church built in the spot that he had envisioned years ago. He dug out the song and it was sang in a dedication to the church, and it is still sung there today.
